
Diagnostic services help physicians throughout the UAB Health System to accurately determine the causes of patient health problems.
Specialists in diagnostic services include radiologists, pathologists and clinical laboratory technicians, who work as a team to conduct tests, evaluate the results, and develp diagnoses.
A comprehensive array of services is offered by the Department of Radiology, including:
- conventional radiography
- Interventional Radiography
- computed tomography (CT)
- positron emission tomography (PET)
- combined positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT)
- ultrasound
- magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- radionuclide imaging (Nuclear Medicine)
