Quality RecognitionsIn addition to a long list of quality recognitions awarded over the years, the UAB Health System recently was named a national benchmark institution for the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) in patient satisfaction for adult inpatient and surgical outpatient care.
Seven programs from UAB are ranked in the 2006
U.S. News and World Report's annual "America's Best Hospitals" issue. UAB is the only Alabama hospital included in the listing. 235 UAB physicians were listed in the latest edition of
The Best Doctors in America and the American Nurses Association’s Credentialing Center (ANCC) has designated UAB Hospital as a Magnet Nursing Service. The ANCC confers this prestigious award on those organized nursing services that exceed professional standards in nursing practice, leadership education, and research. Currently, there are fewer than 50 Magnet Nursing Services nationally, and UAB is the only one in the state of Alabama.
